Anita Tindell Tarver

Anita Rosie Tindell Tarver, 53, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Hospice Savannah Hospice House after a short battle with cancer.
Anita was born November 4, 1952 in Columbus, Georgia and lived many places with her family, including St. Louis, Missouri, Stuttgart, Germany and San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, before settling in Savannah in 1970. Throughout her years in Savannah, Anita worked mostly in the shipping industry, most recently at Yang Ming Line, where she enjoyed her work and the friendship and kindness of her extended Yang Ming family. Her mother, Rosie Lee Bass Tindell, preceded Anita in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Mann, and his wife Shelly, and Jesse Mann, all of Savannah; father, Carlton Tindell of Norma, Florida; brother, David Tindell and his wife, Frances, of Slocumb, Alabama; sister, Susanne Wallace of Dothan, Alabama; granddaughters, Taylor Mann and Chelsea Mann of Savannah; nephew, Jonathan Tindell of Slocumb, Alabama; aunt, Clyde Owens of Graceville, Florida; uncle, David Bass and wife, Oma, of Dothan, Alabama; aunt, Loudine Bass of Arlington, Virginia; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Her ashes will be interred at New Hinson Baptist Church in Fadette, Alabama, at a later time.
The family requests that, in appreciation of the staff’s gentle, compassionate care during Anita’s final weeks, remembrances are sent to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Georgia 31416.
